9th Military Police Detachment
Germany
For a Christmas Care Package Drive
The 9th Military Police Detachment is the primary unit responsible for confinement operations in the European theater. They do not deploy as a unit, but rather as individual augmentees with other units and currently have soldiers in both Iraq and Afghanistan. Soldiers are not able to travel back to the States for the holidays as their presence is required in Germany in case of an emergency requiring a 100% unit recall.
There are a number of soldiers in this particular Unit that are young and have never spent a holiday alone before.
What we are looking for:
Christmas cards there are 105 soldiers in this unit – Our goal – 550 Cards
Drop by the Center and leave a stack of cards that have an uplifting message and a thank you with or without your name on them. Watch our Cards basket overflow.
Care packages – 105 packages
Our goal is to be able to send a care package to the Unit for each and every soldier. We are looking for the following donations: DVD's, phone cards, magazines, stationary, envelopes, stamps, anything holiday. You can either drop by the Center (opening Nov. 1 officially – however the collection box is available at both the old location and new location at the corner of 4th and 8th Avenue, Zephyrhills) or email either Carla at carla@thecenterofdivinelight.com.
If you are a friend from out of state and still want to be involved in supporting the Unit, email Carla at carla@thecenterofdivinelight.com and I will provide you with physical mailing address and other options.
We know that we have the best clients and friends in the world and can make the holidays a blessed time while they are on foreign soil. Let us unit together to show them we thank them for their service, we offer prayers of protection for each of them, and that we at home have not forgotten that they do not stand on US soil.
Thank you for supporting this drive.
